Autumn Rust is an original needle felted wool sculpture, individually handcrafted in the Boyne Valley, Ireland.
Description
Created using New Zealand wool, a blend of Ryeland, Suffolk, Shetland, Romney and Jacob fleece, produced mulesing-free and hand-dyed by women in fair conditions, this one-of-a-kind piece captures a red fox curled and sleeping. Each fibre is layered and sculpted by hand to build depth and lifelike texture, bringing together deep russet tones, ecru at the tail tip and lower face, and brown ears with ecru running through them.
The fox lies on a bed needle felted from undyed Jacob sheep fleece, in the natural greys and browns of the fleece itself, set within a twig wreath with leaves wet felted from merino wool in several shades of green and cut individually. The wreath sits on a cherry wood slice with the natural bark edge left as it came, prepared by Joe. It is lightly secured in place, enough to keep it steady in transit, so it may come free with handling. This is expected and not a fault, and the piece sits securely on a shelf, sill or mantelpiece either way.

We currently ship to Ireland and Northern Ireland only, using An Post tracked delivery. Shipping is €7.00. European shipping is not currently available.
Every item currently available on our website has already been handmade. Orders are usually dispatched within 3 to 5 working days, and An Post takes a further 3 to 5 working days.
