Dara | Needle Felted Badger Fibre Art
Dara is a one-of-a-kind needle felted badger, created by hand in the Boyne Valley and mounted on naturally shaped cherry timber.
Description
His distinctive black and white markings, dark muzzle and watchful expression are built up by hand using fine felting needles. The needle felted badger is worked onto a wet felted wool background, creating depth and texture across the face and surrounding coat.
The natural cherry timber mount forms an integral part of the artwork. Its irregular shape and individual grain have been retained, allowing the character of the wood to sit alongside the softness and detail of the fibre work.
Dara takes his name from the Irish word dair, meaning oak. The name reflects the strength and grounded character associated with one of Ireland's most familiar native woodland animals.

We currently ship to Ireland and Northern Ireland only, using An Post tracked delivery. Shipping is €7.00. European shipping is not currently available.
Every item currently available on our website has already been handmade. Orders are usually dispatched within 3 to 5 working days, and An Post takes a further 3 to 5 working days.
