The Living Fall | Waterfall Fibre Art
Exhibited Selected for Water and Flow, Feltmakers Ireland, Phoenix Park Visitor Centre Gallery, Dublin, 2026
The Living Fall is a needle felted, three-dimensional landscape worked in a mix of fibers including Irish and English wool, sheep's locks and tussah silk. The waterfall and surrounding vegetation are built up through needle felting, layering fibers to create depth, texture and movement.
This piece can be collected from our studio near Navan, Co. Meath. We can also deliver in person to certain areas of the country - we will be in touch after we have received your order to make arrangements for delivery/collection.

The pool is constructed from core wool built up in layers to create depth, with the needle felted surface worked on top. The piece sits in a wooden display bowl which frames the landscape naturally.
Natural and decorative materials are incorporated throughout - driftwood, real stones, and faux moss anchor and detail the ecosystem at the base of the fall. The reverse of the piece is needle felted in textured wool to represent soil and moss, completing the work in the round. The Living Fall began with water - not as a subject, but as participant. in felt making, water is never passive; it softens, binds and transforms raw fibre into something unified and enduring. This piece explores that same energy in landscape form.
Originally created for Water and Flow, an exhibition by Feltmakers Ireland at the Phoenix Park Visitor Centre, Dublin, this sculptural artwork explores the beauty, movement and ever-changing nature of water. Displayed within a wooden bowl, it invites the viewer to discover new details from every angle while celebrating the craftsmanship and originality at the heart of The Crafty Pebblers.
